Dear General Walters:
It was such a pleasure to learn that you will be able
to meet with us next fall that I would be happy to arrange
the time to suit your needs. The class meets on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:15, and we deal with aspects of the
policy process during the month of October. Thus any of those
dates then would fit in smoothly with our schedule. But, again,
I am so pleased the students will have this opportunity to
hear your outstanding presentation, I'll be happy to make
any adjustment to fit your schedule.
For the rest of the time of your visit, we of course
want you to be the guest of the Department for cocktails and
dinner - and overnight at Boar's Head if you wish. There are
a number of faculty who would like the opportunity to meet you
at a smaller gathering sometime during your stay if it proves
possible for you to work this in. We want to tailor the time
to your wishes, so just give us the instructions!
And please accept again my deep gratitude for your
outstanding talk - one of the high spots of my Bicentennial
Year!
