advised that he and Knoche will accompany the
Director to the 16 June briefing for the Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence (see Morning Meeting Minutes of
9 June 19 flowing a 15-minute introduction by the
Director, and Knoche will brief on the Intelligence
Community and CIA respectively
noted that I I will address the Senior 25X1A
Seminar to ay and thatl is briefing Utah 25X1A
college students at the request7o4f- epresentative McKay.
Reporting-that the Air Force Association would like to
come to the Agency for a briefing during its 30th annual
convention in September, Thuermer said he will recommend an
affirmative response by the Director..
Thuermer advised that he will refer to State Department
any inquiries concerning Secretary Kissinger's visit to the
Agency next week.
Thuermer asked that EA/DCI ensure the Director reads
the article Shipler in today's New York Times
(attached). iso called attention to t e Charles Seib
story in today's Washington Post (attached).
Knoche advised that, after he is sworn in as DDCI, his
immediate staff will'be organized as follows:
formerly of NE Division, will replace s A DDCI, 25
concentrating on keeping the DD a u stantively.
and preparing him for meetings; formerly of
OGC will assist the DDCI in reviewing programs and projects;
will serve as-. an assistant through CY 1976,
coor i.na ing- a Agency's compliance with new oversight
arrangements, particularly with Congress, and perhaps con-
ducting a review of the FOIA process. Knoche also welcomed
comments on his management ideas: creation of an Executive
Advisory Group, consisting of at least the four Deputies
and the General Counsel, to focus on 6-10 major management
issues and problems; .a substructure of working committees,
each to be chaired an BAG member; an EAG support staff
headed by who will also serve as an BAG member
and alternate chairman, to focus on the Comptroller, require-
ments, and Executive Secretariat functions.
