SUBJECT: Operations Center Support for Mr. Knoche
;Secus+V a Regiw~;
The Operations Center has been asked to provide re-
levant cable traffic to Mr. Knoche, effective immediately.
(Mr. Knoche will receive his copies of the President's
Daily Brief, National Intelligence Daily and other publi-
cations via OCI's Registry and copies-WE restricted Ops
cables from the EA/DDO.)
The duty officers need not be constrained in their
selection by any "threshhold" hang-up since Mr. Knoche's
E will screen. everything going to
him. The DDCI CIA s ould receive everything that goes to
the DCI or Admiral Murphy. Beyond that he should receive
cables selected for the Director's Cable Summary, Sitrep
cables on Lebanon, etc., State's Morning Highlights. The
duty officers should pass Mr. Knoche's cables during.busi-,
ness hours, rather than allowing them to accumulate.
After hours, Mr. Knoche takes the view that he need
not be awakened unless a development is actionable. But
he,does not wish to be surprised, either; when overnight
developments warrant, the duty officers should alert the
DDCI/CIA at 0645 or thereabouts.
