It meant a lot to get your nice note concerning
my recent appointment as DDCI. You brought me
great memories of that fine institution NPIC when
you included a copy of my Chinese note to you which
goes back some years.
The new assignment will be a tough one, but the
future will be full of new opportunities as well as
difficulties.
I will certainly do the best I can to ensure that
my travels bring me through San Francisco as often
as possible; I will indeed look you up on those occasions-
