SUBJECT : Jack Blum and Jerome Levinson
REFERENCE : Your Note, dated 8 October 1976, on
above subjects
1. Jerome Levinson and Jack Blum have been for a number
of years the Counsel and Associate Counsel of the Subcommittee on
Multinational Corporations of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
This Subcommittee is chaired by Senator Frank Church.
2. Blum and Levinson in the past have been involved in a
number of eye-catching investigations. In particular, they were a
large part of the motivating force in 1973 when this Subcommittee
investigated U. S. Government involvement in the coup in Chile.
Most recently they have contributed in some measure to the surfacing
of the Lockheed bribery scandals overseas.
3. Levinson is still with the Subcommittee; however, Blum
left the Subcommittee about two months ago for a lobbying job in
Washington, D. C.
4. As staff on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, they
have had and still have Top Secret clearances, however, Blum's
clearances are being cancelled, since he has left the Committee.
