unclassified, nonattributed memo prepared by OSR/DDI commenting on
a Library of Congress draft report on Soviet civil defense programs.

Mark Moran, Legislative Assistant to Senator John Tunney (D. , Calif. ).
Moran said that a group of staffers on the Senate Appropriations Committ2tx
including Guy McConnell,and Charles Cromwell, Senate Armed Services
Committee staff, were discussing an interest in any intelligence
Soviet targeting aircraft performance pilot training provided by
Moran, on behalf of the group, was calling to arrange
such a brie ing. told him I would check into it; however, the last

During the visit, Slatinshek expressed serious concern that the wide range
of differences within the Community of estimates concerning the performance
