1. I note that you have suggested to that
the little OSR piece on KGB funding be given rather wide dis-
semination in the Community. There is some concern about this,
both because of the extreme softness of the numbers and the
use to which they, might be put, particularly in terms of
comparison with US intelligence expenditures.
2. has been approached repeatedly by Chuck
Snodgrass to o a more thorough study of Soviet intelligence
in comparison with the US effort and, as you know, the Senate
Select Committee is also interested in the subject. We are
presently gearing up to do such a study, and I would like to
suggest, that you defer disseminating the OSR piece until we
have made a more thorough appraisal of the opposition.
