MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT Agency Pamphlet
This might well be a good time to start a project
I mentioned to you: a new and more "with it" Agency
pamphlet. Our goal would be to have a document that
could be used both for informational and recruiting
purposes.
Our tentative thoughts on the pamphlet are as follows:
a. A standard size document (8-1/2 x 11) of
some six to eight pages.
b. At least two photos of, for example, the
library and the Headquarters building.
c. Contents that include: a brief history of
intelligence and of the CIA;. a description
of the spread of talents and academic
backgrounds of Agency employees; a simple
organizational chart with brief descriptions
of the components (Directorate level only);
a short study of two or three "typical"
employees (probably analysts); and a closing
emphasizing the importance to America of
maintaining a professional and capable
intelligence service.
If you approve such a pamphlet, we would hope to have a
draft in your hands within about a month.
