SUBJECT: WSAG - Indochina, January 25, 1974

This confirms the understandings reached at the WSAG meeting on Indochina
on January 25, 1974.
The Director of Central Intelligence will prepare an analysis of potential con-
flicts over the Paracel, Spratly and Senkaku Islands. This analysis will be
submitted by February 4, 1974 , for consideration by the WSAG.
The Deputy Secretary of Defense will prepare an analysis of the $200 million
equipment request submitted by the Embassy in Saigon together with recom-
mendations on what equipment should be provided. This analysis will be
submitted by January 30, 1974, for consideration by the WSAG.
