July,On 24 British official on Bahrein stated that Sultan of
Muscat, s forces (about BOO men) had been outmanuevered by M-
ikan "Omani Liberation Any", and that some of his forces may
have defected to the Ism.
A. Ne said Sultan now has ffective forc. which can be used
in interior.
B. Britain has airlifted two coapanies of troopsya to
Sharja in the Trucial States to reinforce British-led Trucial
Oman Scouts (000 men), These forces will probably secure
Sumba and contain area of rebellion,
C. Bower British hope to break rebellion with sir strikes
against mud forts held by dissidents,

fort at Iski, near Niawa.
