production from China was available to some extent, not included in this chart and
production from many marginal mines had ceased in other areass including the United
States, During the first six months United States consumption was low, and tungsten
was added to the stockpile. During the last six months there was a great demand for
tungsten, and by the end of the year the need for international agreement on distribu-
stion of the supply led to the formation of IMC.
