The Algiers Accord
1. The Shah of Iran and Iraqi strongman Saddam Husayn
Tikriti signed an agreement on March 6 intended to.resolve
the differences which had produced border clashes during the
past year. Both governments gained important advantages from
the accord; Iraq's rebellious Kurds*?were the big losers.
