The USSR possesses optical bomb sights equivalent to US World War II type bomb sights. Soviet aviators could therefore be expected to execute satisfactory bomb placement under visual conditions. The USSR is equipping its TU-4 tnediumbombers and IL-28 Sight bombers aircraft with blind bombing/navigation radars similar to the U.S. AN/APS_15 and AN/AFQ-13. The accuracy of the Soviet blind bombing system (Y'6 P is estimated to be about 3000 feet (circular error, probable) at the present time. The USSR has adequate navigation facilities for use within the Soviet Bloc and there is evidence of experimental operation of a low frequency pulsed hyperbolic navigation system similar to' Oran which if it bocomes operational should provide coverage over most of the Western USSR and over most of Western Europe.
