Approved For Release 2000(112: CIA-RDP79T004 9A000100040Q01-4 16 May 1963 MEMORANDUM FOR: Assistant Director, Current Intelligence SUBJECT OCR Proposal on Briefings 1. The OCR proposal to centralize control over briefings and debriefings should work to OCI's advantage. 2. Requests to provide briefers and debriefers now reach OCI generally from three sources: a. OCR Liaison Staff. b. DDP - usually for debriefing returning DDP personnel. In these cases, at the request of the DDI's office, the II Staff of OCI informs all DDI offices of the debriefing and passes back to the DDP any indications of interest. OCR plays no role in this activity. c. Colonel Grogan of the O/DCI - usually for fairly important figures in journalism. 3. If the OCR Liaison Staff could be made the official channel for briefing requests from all sources, with full responsibility for passing information to all concerned, this would simplify arrangements and relieve OCI of a fair amount of business conducted on behalf of the DDI directorate with respect to the DDP.
