Jordan. (As of 11?30 AM EST) 25X1X 25X1 C 25X1X 1. Anti-Husayn demonstrations have broken out agaf . today in. west Jordanian towns but are not yet as widespread as they were yesterday. Many Jordanians suspect more serious tr bl ou e will develop on. Friday, the Muslim day of worshi ies less in. the demonstrations which he on s b anger has expressed his belief that f ure trolled, than in. the threat of assassination, ofcgn con government and the sabotage of govonsment government installations. 2. have received information which in yri.a, probably with Egypt?s knowledge, is making plans to try and. assassinate Husayn and other top Jordanian officials. Conspiracies against the regime by dis- gruntled army officers, meanwhile, are moving ahead. Two separate pro=Nasir groups apparently are active, and there is a possibility that they will get together despite sus- picions that divide them. 4. Saudi Arabia?s King Faysal has put 4,000 Saudi troops stationed near the Jordanian border at Husayx g disposal. The same applies to Iraq's offer of four Hawker Hunter jet fighters to the Jordan.ians. These aircraft, some of which Jordan already has, are no match for Israel's Mirage III jets. Jordan. lost one Hawker Hunter in. the 13 November clash. 5. Egypt's Nasir is scheduled to make a Sp ech today which should be in. progress now. He can. hardly avoid some commentary on the Jordanian crisis. The way he treats it will have a direct bearing- on. future developments in Jordan..
