manned space flight program will get moving soon,
aCtcr two years of no manned operations. In fact,
preparations are under way right now for a launch
(or launches) tomorrow which may he the opening Shot.

16. Outlook. We do not believe that Soviet prepara-
tions have yep reached the stage which will allow them
to mount a complex, multiple-launch mission such as a
manned orbiting space station or a manned circumlunar
flight. What is more likely is that the events in the
next few days will involve precursors to these sophisti-
cated missions--perhaps flights into deep space and back
with clogs; perhaps more modest missions involving man.
The latter could include a rendezvous and docking opera-
tion between two manned spacecraft, or between a manned
capsule and a large propulsion module for boosting the
capsule into 13 igher ' orbit .
