Israel's Foreign Minister Abba Eban advised the US Embassy in Tel Aviv that according to his latest information the Egyptian ground aggression occurred with the shelling of three Israeli settle- ments near the Gaza strip. 3. General firing broke out in both sections of Jerusalem this morning according to the AMCONSUL there. Automatic and heavy weapons fire was heard. The Consul also reports that UNTSO proposed a cease-fire in Jerusalem which was to begin at 12:00 noon but as of 12:35 Jerusalem time firing was still going on. 4. Radio Jidda announced today that King Faysal had ordered Saudi Arabian forces to join the battle against Israel. It continued saying that he had sent Saudi Arabian troops into the border region near the Jordanian port of Aqaba. Radio Cairo said today that an American oil tanker tried to slew sideways this morning to obstruct navigation in the Suez Canal. The tanker was not further identified. The broadcast continued saying that "Israel had tried to attack a French tanker moving through the canal, near Kabrit." 6. Damascus radio is quoted in Lebanon as urging Arab workers to blow up western-owned oil pipelines in Syria and "all over the Arab world." Cairo radio was quoted in Beirut as urging workers to blow up "enemy" installations in Arab states and strike at anyone supporting Israel. They should blow up pipelines and stop the oil flow "lest it should be changed into bullets directed at your chests." 7.
