The Chiang-pien-chieh Hydro Power Plant (Liu-lang-tung) is located on
the eastern bank of the Nan-pan Chiang (River) approximately 15 nautical miles
southeast of Chu-yuan, China.
This plant appears complete, and there has been no new construction since
the date of the latest photography used in the referenced report.
The powerhouse is large enough to accommodate at least two turbogenerators. A
switching yard containing three transformers is located just north of the power-
house. Water is supplied to the plant through two penstocks and comes from
an unknown source.
Water turbulence in the taiIrace indicated that the plant was operating
on both referenced missions.
