No SAM equipment is in place at the new site, but launch and guidance positions are being pre- pared and several buildings and Cuban tents have been erected. Equipment from the Nicaro site will prob- ably be moved to the new location, which will afford better protection for sort and naval facilities in Bahia Iraq: Baathist influence in the Iraqi military suf- fered ano er setback on 16 December, when direct command of the air force was withdrawn from Baath- ist Defense Minister Tikriti and given to a non-Baath- ist.
