JORDAN-USSR: After several months of tempo-
rizing over King Husayn's request to visit Moscow,
the Soviets on 19 July informed the Jordanians that
they will be delighted to receive the King at any
time.
The timing and reporte urgency wit
which the response was delivered suggest a quick
move by Moscow to cultivate the King in the after-
math of events in Egypt and probably foreshadow ad-
ditional Soviet efforts to shore up relations with
the other Arab states.
