It is requested that the construction of the following two (2) maps be undertaken by the Geographic Division to fulfill operational planning requirements of this office. a. Base map intended for genefial operational planning both at Headquarters and in the field. Area coverage to include Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, South America, the Bahama Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. b. Situation map: To be highly detailed, approximately 81 vertical, to be.utilized for situation postings. Area coverage to be the same as a. above but to include in addition that portion of Antarctica subtended by the South American continent. It is suggested that existent plates be utilized in map construction so that completion date may be as soon as possible. c.
