SUBJECT : Intelligence and World Affairs Course (IWA)
for New Professionals
It has come to the attention of OTR that a number of sub-
professionals are being advanced to the professional category
within the DDO every year. Your attention is drawn to the IWA
Course which is given 6 to 8 times a year and which is a pre-
requisite for all new employees in the professional category.
It is recommended that Divisions and Staffs survey employees to
see if any persons recently advanced to the professional
category could usefully take the IWA Course. In the future
it is suggested that employees promoted to the professional
level. be recommended for attendance at the IWA Course.
