Selection Panel Recd uendati or
lo At its meeting on 23 April 1953, the CIA Career Service
Board established the policy that:
"No one will be hired or retained in the Agency who is
disapproved by the Professional Selection Panel except
by action of the Director of Central Intelligence who
should be previously advised of the opinion of the CIA
Carr Service Board as to the action he should take in
the matter,"

those cases in which an adverse a corramendatlon is made by the Pro.
fesaione3. Selection Panel if it is requested to do so by the DD/I,
DD/P, DD/A, .AD/Corm or the D/TRO Since the Excout&vo Secretary
of the CIA Career Service Board also serves as Executive Secretary
of the Panel, the request will be made through him so that he may
prepare the necessary material for the members of the Board to
review*
