I feel that I must write to thank you for sparing time to see
me with the Head of the BBC Monitoring Service, John Campbell,
during our recent visit to Washington. It was encouraging me to have this opportunity of paying tribute to the harmonious
relations which exist between our respective monitoring services,
and to thank you for the significant help which we have received
at your hands.
The understanding between us in the.field of world monitoring
was, I think, further consolidated in the cordial discussions which
took place in Washington under George Carey's aegis, and.,
