Dear Roger,
Following my letter to you of 20th January on the
subject of Sheringham's visit to Washington and your Bureaus
on the West Coast and Far East, I am now able to give you the
details of his flight schedules and attach them as a separate
note to this letter.
I am most grateful to you for agreeing to this trip
which I think will be of great benefit to the general opera-
tion, and I confirm'that it is not my intention that he should
visit the European Bureaus. Our liaison with Cyprus is
sufficiently close not to make such a visit necessary by
Sheringham, and I am not anxious that he should be away for
longer than necessary for various reasons here. You will see
from the schedule that he is breaking his journey between
Okinawa and Saigon in Hong Kong, but we of course are making
arrangements ourselves for his stay there.
Thank you for letting me know of
visit to London from 15th - 20th February. We will be very
glad to see him and give him all the assistance and information
which he may require.
