electronic technician students were much less interested in the Agency
because they believe the functions they would be performing are those
being reported on in the Watergate stories and the most recent revelations.
At Grambling University, a Black school in Grambling, Louisiana, a

the matter.

a. Recruiter reports that his visit to
North Carolina Central at Durham was exceptionally productive.
He saw more and better applicants than on any of his previous visits
to that campus. No one there even mentioned our recent publicity.
His visit to the University of South Florida at Tampa was equally
successful. There he interviewed an electrical engineer with a
3.95/4.00 GPA.

b. Recruiter reported to us that placard-
bearing students picketed the Placement Office at Virginia Polytechnic
Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia on 21 January. The pickets were
protesting the appearance of a CIA recruiter on campus. Warned of
the picketing by the Placement Director, cancelled his
interviews and remained away from the campus. He contacted several
applicants with whom he has been in correspondence and conducted
interviews at his motel.
