Recruiting at Indiana Universxtyy-.- Chief of OTR's Language earnln Center, accompanied 25X1A Recruiter to the University of Indiana during the week of 1 May. They planned to interview several candidates for the position of. Senior Instructor. OTR is also seeking an advanced degree candidate in the field of Instructional Science who would be involved in the develop- ment of curricula and instructional methods. The program at. Indiana University is reported to be well suited to OTR's need. in this field.. _.2. Jobs - A Worldwide. Problem: IVo have noted a heavy upsurge in responses to our a vertisi'ng in recent months, apparently due to the increased availability of college- trained applicants? College placement officials are acutely aware of this and are now reporting that the unemployment and underemployment of college graduates is a subject of concern in a number of countries in addition to the United States - One estimate indicates that half of the university graduates in France in recent years have been unable to find suitable jobs. This has promptoocl: the French Government to propose maj or changes in university education to make it more compatible with the needs of French industry. The Swedish Government is adopting -a series of reforms, beginning in 1977-78, that will relate access to higher education to future needs for woric;ers. Each student will be channeled into one of five vocational sectors based on predictions of the number of jobs that will be required. in those areas.
