1. Retirement Activity: The figures shown below depict
the total retirement activify for the period from 1 May through
31 July 1979. The figures in the clear show totals. The
figures in parenthesis represent persons who have opted for
discontinued service or "involuntary" retirement. Thus of 133
persons to depart by 31 July 1979, 42 are going under the
"liberal" options.

3. Legislation: We reviewed the following proposed
legislation:
a. H.R. 2818 - to provide that a former spouse
of a federal employee who is married to such employee
for ten years or more shall be entitled to a portion
of the employee's annuity.

b. H.R. 4400 - proposing to permanently reduce
the level of the federal civilian work force
4. Blood Donations: A total of 130 units of blood were
collected at e Agency's monthly Blood Donor Day on 3 July
1979. This compares with 131 units donated last month. An
analysis of donor statistics is being made to determine the
effect thus far of Personal Affairs Branch's efforts to
increase employee participation. (U)
6. Photography Exhibit: The Employees Photography
Exhibit started on 9 July 1979 and had 55 participants
compared to 29 in 1978. The Employee Activities Association (EAA)
is assisting the Fine Arts Commission in this effort. A new
feature this year will be the judging of entries with the winners
having their pictures reproduced for display on office walls.
Judges are to be Mrs. Stansfield Turner, an editor from the
Washington Star, and others. The show, which runs through
3 August 1979, has been extremely well received. (U)
-7. New EAA Field: The 9 July 1979 evening game on the
new EAA fiell has already set some records for the field. The
Bulls beat the Eagles 37 to 4. Other statistics from the game
included.6 runs over the fence and a 16-run first inning.
8. Suggestion Box: No suggestions were received this
week.. The total number of suggestions received since the
program began on 15 June 1977 is 71. (U)
9. Rehired Annuitants: See attached report. (S)
