"The Yaroslavl Combinate produces armored "vehicles aa4 tanks for the Boviot Army. The production includes heavy six-wheeled trucks armored ameanition trucks, 'terrain vehicles` on caterpillars and medium (ca 50-tcnS tanks. 2. "At tae beginning of April 1953 the first series of 20 tanks of a now doeign were produced. Known as 'amphibious-mountain tanks/, the' are medium tranks adapted for matiata?_^_^ua terrain. Instead of having a gun-turret, each is mounted on the ton with 'rocket launchers'. They can move easily on snow or ice and can cross rivers. 3. "Prototypes of this new tank series were sent in January 1953 to the Soviet garrison at Ron* on the^.hukot rChukotekt7 Peninsula for testa in Arctic conditions. At that time it was found that the tank engines were too weak. The new series completed in April were equipped with more powe:1I!u1 engines. 4.
