item ~ ThiP paper was published i~ three languages, Chinese, IIighur and a
smr11 "bulletin" is the Russian laugua$e. The "~inchiaag Jih Pao" also had
branches in Buld~a (Tn~*g), Chuguchak (Tahcheng), Keahgar (Shut) sad ffisottn
(xotien). The newspaper in these ~ovns was only published iu the UigY.ur sad
Chinese ]attguagua. In the fall of 1943 a division of the Chinese saws ageaoy~
"Central Newa" wea established is IIrumchi.
4. There existed in Ilrumchi a society called the."AatitImperialiot Seoiety". Tho
goal of tine nooi.~ty was to attract and befriend +.he youth. They taught the youth
Communist 3octrinea nn3 the pro-Soviet idea].e of the n14ov Sinkiang Central Gevsrnmeat".
In Occnber 1943 thin society was ordered oloaod and its political St~aotioaa sad
teachings wx a teka^. aver by the Kuomiagtaag Party. Throughout Sinkiang every rase
and native tribe had its own club. Theas oluba wale ergaaiz~d and ~paa~ated~behlnd
the acenae, by Soviet agents sad whose main fuaotion it was to teach the elders of
snob ra.oe and tribe the Communist doctriaeo and to show Soviet propasaada films.
Ir; I3rumohi there existed a motion picture oompe.ny, which was called the Soviot.-
Chineae Film Company. This oompazyy supplied Soviet films, :roe of charge, to
these various clubs. In Urumchi, Suld~a sad Chuguahak., the Soviets established
their official booketee~ea, "Mozhknign".

standing sportsmen fr all 0 regions of Sizilciang were seat to compete at the

Wacaen'e Orgnnizatione", which was directed by the?wife of Shang Tupan. dll ether
towns of Sinkiang had onaptare of L2il.e arganizntian. In 1942 the first large
meeting of this organisation was held, with dalegntea wont from all the ma~ar
towns of Sinkiang.

~tem ?~ in Urumchi, which, until the end of Shang Tupan?e reign (fall of 1943),
ware operated and staffed by only Soviet phyoicians. After October 1943, these
? Soviet physicians were replaced by Chinese doetoa~a.
