3. "The military identification documents for otficera'are issued by the MFA/or MAI/

(b) When a military patrol under the command of nn officer of
inferior rank (to the officer challenged) demmande identifica-
tion and has in its possession a special permit issued by
the Military Police Headquarters entitling the chief of
the patrol to carry on such duties and specifying the top
rank of officer whom his patrol may challenge.
(c) When an officer enters a military unit and/-or -a military
barrack or institution he must produce his military
identification document to the duty officer of the unit,
or, in the absence of the duty of~'icer, to the commander
of the guard.
4. "To prove identity to civilian authorities (or. tzair?arin a bank, etc.) army
officers carry the normal civilian identification card called Buletin de
Populatie.
5. "Non-commissioned officers (reangajati) carry military identification documents
similar to those carried by officers. The same identification regulations
apply.
6. "The officer candidates at the various military schools carry military identifIea-
tion documents which are issued by their respective schools and countersigned by
the commander in chief of the garrison headquarters of the military region -in which
the mi'.itary school is located. Officer ::andidates must identify themselyes to
any patrol of the Comenduirea Pietei, no matter what the rank covered by the chief
of the patrol.
7. "Conscripta(ostasi in `ermen) carry military identification documents which are
issued by we units to which they belong, signed by the commanding officer of the
respective unit and countersigned by the commanding officer of the garrison
headquarters of the military region to which the unit belongs. Conscripts must
identify themselves to an military patrol of the Comenduirea Pietei. They
identify themselves to civilian authorities in the same bray as officers - by the
Buletin de Yopulatie.
8. "According to regulations, members of the Militia and of the Securitatea are not
entitled to despand identification of military personnel of the MP'A Ministry.
Should such identification'be necessary, it must be done in collaboration with MFA
