LThe Office of Naval Intelligence furnished the following information to CIA forTAC
dissemination in accordance with paragraph 3c of NSCID #7. This information was
obtained by DIO-3ND and was forwarded as ONI report 221-53.
1. Itinerary: The Swedish cargo ship Braheholm arrived Gdynia, Poland from Gefle,,
Sweden on 18 October 1953 and was berthed at the After loading a
partial cargo for New York, she Balled on 291M.t z for Gothenburg, her last porti
of call in Europ.; before sailing for the United States.
2. Caro Information: A general cargo' including such items as Christmas tree ornaments

were listed as "Animex, Centrala Imp-,Exp Warsaw" and the consignees were
listed on the manifest as "J.Henry Schroder Barking Corp; Notifyi Atalanta Products
Corp, 71 Hudson St, Now York.
3? Port Observations: source observed very little. The pilot at Gdynia told the
source t t t Tee Soviet destroyers had been there'. a few days previously. There is
considerable housing construction going on in Gdynia at present. Source remarked on
the excellent condition of the outer buoys at Gdynie,, pointing in particular to their
excellent suitability as radar targets. He stated t:,ct on his visits to Gdynia he
usually sighted one or two tugboats towing two or three well-laden barges in Eastbound
coastwise trade. The tugs are large, of appro%imately 2000 HP.
