I offered to major. US steel producers Burmese manganese
with a European outturn analysis of this hard lumpy ore:

The mine Tocation unknow7 guarantees a minimum of 52% manganese and
a maximum of three percent Fe,, three percent SiO2 and 0.1% P.
3- Our thoughts were that we would cement a firm offer in the beginning
for about three thousand,tons for shipment between September 1953 and
January 1954. However, in view of the political conditions in Burma
and the fact that the mining area is prone to bandit interference, we
expect to make the sales contracts subject to safe arrival. at the port.
To date, the sales made by our affiliates in Fsurope have been fulfilled
to the full satisfaction of the consuming wor) s. It is my understanding
that this ore has been going to Norway and Germany (IM).
