'IIn addition, there is a bachelor's tIax (ergenski danak) amounting to five to seven per cent of actual earnings. This tax is paid by both men and women after they reach their 21st birthday When a person marries no ta:: is levied for a period of one year. If during that first year a child is born both parents start paying the tax again, but only at five per cent; if there is no child the tax is seven per cent, which is what single persons pay. If a couple has three children, the tax is no longer levied. 3. "No extra receipt is given by cashiers for either the income or the bachelor's tax. Cashiers are supposed to deduct these taxes from workers' paychecks. 4. "Another general tax is the tax of 'work obligations' (trudova owinnost danak) amounting to 0.25% of earnings.
