4, Caro Handling: The waterfront faeilitieo generally were good, but on 23
Auguot 1951 an Icelandic cargo ship was delayed ton days in diocharging a
1500-ton cargo of frozen fish by the lack of the neceoeary railroad cars
to receive it.
Retail Prices: tlthough there use r.tuch offered for nale in Leningrad stores,
the pricco wore high. The following io a sampling of Leningrad prices':

6. Miucoll,noous: ;abhtaeoing buooo were provided for the uoo of visiting
merchant seamen, who were given a guided tour of local points of interest
including the Czar's Palace. Thera Wore no reotrictiono in the city, but
the seamen were unable to tall: to the civilifuu. They boliovad that they
were under ourvelllance the entire time they were ashore.
