CONCESSIONS STATUS
As of 31 Dec 53 a total of 696 bids for petroleum concessions had been filed
with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum compared to a total of 652 as of
31 Dec 52, showing that 44 bids were filed during 1953. This comperes with
59 bids filed in 1952 and 27 in 1951. Bidders for the 44 concessions axe:
intercol, 20; Richmond, 9; Texas, 5; Shell, 1; Colpet, 2; J W West, 5;
others, 2. During 1953 five bids were converted into concession contracts
