there but they disappeared and re-
appeared every ew ation was also guarded.
Antenna (Point 3)
Between 0l'gino and Lakhta, 0 a single mast, about 100 meters
high which was supported by four guy wires. (See Enclosure (B)
for a rough sketch of this mast.) At the top was something which
resembled an oblong box.
have no idea for what this box may have been used,)
saw a number of German Army radio trucks (Funlnvagn
foot of the mast. Some of these trucks had what appeared to be
a rectangular (bar shaped) antenna mounted on their roofs. This
antenna was composed of grid work approximately 3 m x i m x 1/3 m.
It was attached to the truck in a somewhat similar manner that
rotary blades are attached to a helicopter. While it may have
been constructed to do so, I do not recall ever seeing the antenna
rotate, however.
Airfield (Point 4)
I my one airfield in this region; it was located east of
rs aya. The few planes we saw in the air were quite small and
looked like training planes. The country along the railroad
track' was heavily wooded and swampy and it was difficult to see
anything in the distance.
Railroad
When going to Leningrad by train from Septroretsk
either by way of Ol'gino or Pesochnoye. Both sections were
electrified s0O after the end of World War II. Concerning this
circular route, the following comments in

(a) There was no alternative route going from Sestroretsk
to Beloostrov. There was only one track and this was
east of the Sestra River. That line, shown
west of the river (Point 5) did not e .
(b) When proceeding toward Leningrad,
having seen any spurs oi:'g off to e e , e of
Novyye Dubki as shown (Point 6). There may have been
one there; however, during World War II.
24 Shortly before reaching Leningrad, there were two 60 meter masts
connected by cables. They were erected in l948 andl
they were used for radio broadcasting.
