The 29th Artillery Regiment in Arad, Rumania is motorized with 12 SIS-151 trucks
commanded by Col Flores Albu. The former commander has been called to the General
Staff. The four batteries of the 1st and 2nd Sections have been filled with replace-
ment troops and made into a third section, so that the regiment now consists of three
sections of three batteries each. The strength is about 600 men.

4. The ,6n Rumanian Border Guard Brigade, strength about three thousand men, is located
in a barracks 1800 m north of Siria. The Brigade is composed of three regiments of
three battalions each, each battalion having three companies of five platoons each.
The regiments of this brigade are the 6th, 10th and 16th. The Commander is ?,taj Gen
Ta.he Dragomireaou.
5. The 6th Border Guard Regiment, not motorized, strength about one thousand men, is
commanded by Col Eugen Lemnaru. The Adjutant is N jar Vasile l Cristescu. Each
5X1 company be 10 Sirionov auto-rifles and 32 M-40 machine pistols. They wear shoulder
boards decorated in green.
6. The 10th Border Guard Regiment, strength about one thousand men, is commanded by
Col Mann Seiearu. The Adjutant is Capt Ion Dobrescu. Each company has three ZB-38
light machine guns and 24 Siinonov auto-rifles. They wear shoulder boards decorated
in green.
7. The barracks complex at Simand was completed in May 1953, and is now occupied by the
semi-military unit Labor Section ZI 4/Z. This unit is shout 800 men strong, and is
made up of building workers not trained with weapons. The members belong to older
25X1 classes, born 1915 to 1925, and to the German, Jewish, Turkish and Serbian groups.
The barracks complex holds 120 barracks buildings. At present, the labor section is
working on such interior furnishings of the barracks as beds, tables, benches, etc.
The project is intended for a major troop exercise area. Collective and individual
farms in the area have been advised to let their fields lie fallow after the current
5X1 harvest tbroughout an area of 1500 hectares.
