1. There are two large depots of materiel for use in. fortification at Elkho vo.
One is at the station. The other is in the southern outskirts of the town.
The materiel includes wood for bul lding, ple:..ks, cement, lime, iron rods,
nails, concrete balks three me tees low.: prefabricated sections of bunkers,
mlolong g aannd
ready for assembly. There are als~:, large logs, abohthirty meters
fifty centimeters at the base. `these are mostly pine Cs and freight cars. The supply of ti r` ck.s '..-. -~onti.nually being renewed.
2. AMolotovka trucks were fcr trat.sport but have shown themselves
impractical in mountainous terra :::_. Orel Blitz trucks are now being used.
3. The fortifications being ^or.str'~ .tai :er:s_st of trenches. These are 1.20 meters
deep, 60 centimeters wide at the and 1.20 meters snide at the top. The
Bulgarians are also building subt_'rraz_ee? emplacements for antitank guns and
mortars, also subterranean shelters :-::fling from ten to twenty persons. There
are also observation posts for commanders, platforms for machine suns,
strong points fortified ,:ith :;rict.s -r.l concrete, and antitank barriers. On
the roads there are eau quickly be -u-c, in place to form
antitank obstacles.
