Nothing is known here about any plan to transfer the EMW (Eisenach Motor
Works) works at Eisenach to the Soviet Union. Report of such propoaed
transfer may have arisen from the fact that in June and July 1953 machinery
was shipped out to the Soviet Union (mainly machines for tooling crankshafts).
These machines however had already been taken out of production at the
then BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) works at the beginning of 1951 and packed
up. It is also known that the EMW works have been carefully surveyed
and all thm machinery entered on a plan.
