1. The village of Bosig is in the neighborhood of Bomiseh-Leipa. In the
spring of 1953, thiray-two sq an of lend was seized from peasants in this
area, and all persons were required t/. evacuate it by 1 Jun 53. Since that
date it has been made into an artillery and infantry target range and
exercise area.
2. Work is still going on to give it the most modern equipment. A labor bat-
talion and a technical batta.li n Hre nt wnr$r as well nn hundreds nP civiliAn
laborers. During the summer 19337tbare were set up an exercise area for armor
and SP guns, a target range for "TP guns and rockets, three infantry target
ranges for light and heavy weapons, an infantry exercise area with a one-story
command building and two three-story quarters, a barracks near Bosig -own and
a. number of munitions magazines.
3. At Manetin, near Plzen, there is another new large target range and exercise
area for infantry and artillery. It has been sot up since the spring of 1953
on the east side of the.netin-Plzefi road. Numerous barracks were built and
during the summer (195.~/ hundreds of tents were.set up.
