1. The conunittees of Murmansk city and the Party have set up new responsible officers
to handle the provision and distribution of food anc the provision and distribution
of fuel. The heads of these offices are Party functionaries who handled the
sine matters during World War II4
2. Planning in these areas is in charge of a functionary named Versinin, who has
been concerned with such matters since the siege of Leningruc.
3. Party and managerial functions in the Murmansk area are all in the hands of
ureat Russians. white f:ussians and Ukrainians have mostly been removed to other
areas of the U,.c;ft,
4. In Nov 1952, eight thousand workmen arrived to work on the rapid alteration of
buildings in the Msrmnnck harbor area. 'these buildings were immediately taken
over by the military, civilians being removed to the southern part of the town.
5. Food depots with a floor area of about 300 hectares have been set up near' the
Tuloma 1aver.
