2. The 113th and the 114th Motorized Infantry Divisions, fornerly stationed at
Lvov ..n Eastern Galicia have taken up new positions in the Carpathians, betwt.1-n
Janina, Ustcorna .nd Lazy in Ruthenia. This movement was part of a 1-eneral
alteration of Soviet military dispositions in the Ukraine, which has receive(.
important reinforcements from Russia proper. The now dispositions were directeu
by Marshal I.F. Kondv; in general they augment the highly mobile forces stati&:r.ed
near the borders of the Satellite tates.
3. Polish b;arsh-_1 Rokossovsky, ?.ccompanied by high officer:: of the Soviet general
staff,is now on inspectic:n in the region of Bielsko-Zywiec, southwest of Chrzr.nov,
nc?:r the Jablunkov Pass. The 17th Soviet Armored Division, stationed at Ninak,
is beinj- t+url:ferred to this region.
4. This mov_men;, is accompanied by a general redistribution of Polish forces, a
leading feature of which is that the moto-:acch?nized and cavalry units are bring
regrouped and sent to The Czechoslovak Dur, der, between Silesia and Tatry mountain.
5. A loss irrportsnt G;ovement of Soviet troops is taking place in the region betti.een
Pirna south of Dresden and Hfensko to the Czech frontier.
6. The general object of the new dispositions is to form Soviet un t into a central
group which can reinforce the Polish and Czech units at will, or~those stationed
in %xony.
