1. Considerable military installations are being built east of the
Czech town of Dauba. North of the villages of Bosing sir.,.7 and Woken
an area of 50 square an has been taken over for the purpose. Wnen
complete the area will represent the largest military camp in
Czechoslovakia, and near it will be a large exercise area.
2. Down to the present there have been completed: a large tank exercise area,
with obstacles; a training area for drivers of armored cars, cross-
country cars and S/P guns; a target range for tanks and S/P guns;
an exercise area for infantry with heavy obstacles. Numerous command
buildings, kitchens, depots and repair shops are either complete or
under construction.
3. An airfield is also being built, with a central food depot, a munitions
magazine for all types of arms that will use the area, and a fuel dumb.
4. A number of the buildings were already completed in the summer of 1953
and were turned over to the troops. The first trials showed that the
terrain had been well chosen. There are water obstacles, marshes,
hills and everything else needed.

Work is in the hands of the Central Office for Fortification. The
group in charge consists of technical officers of the Czechoslovak Army
representatives of the Building Ministry, the Central Office for
Fortification and a commission of Soviet -)fficers.
