1. The engineer off icerst barraek$ at Baja is at the corner of Ha jrald and Dozsa C r -, Streets.
25X1 It is now occupied by a Hungarian technical officers' school
2. The number of students is 350 to 400. The trainees remain here for six months,
having been chosen after a yearts service with troops. They wear dark green
shoulder boards and insignia with a white border. During the summer, reserve
officers come for a refresher course of one or two months.
3. The subjects studied are the construction of military roads, fortification, bridge-
building, minelaying and removal, and all types of explosives.
4. On paper the school is motorized, but it has no trucks of its own, borrowing from an
engineer battalion which is under its command. The school has five passenger cars,
six jeeps and one radio car.

The engineer barracks was formerly called the Maria Teresia Barracks. It-is on
D6zsa Gyorgy Street.
It is nneupi*d by an engineer battalion, under command of tho officerst school,
and is regarded as a provisional formation. It has 520 to 540 men. The unit
holds exercises with men from the officerst school.

five'tractors, four jeeps, four passenger cars, four shop cars. It also has wood
and metal pontoons, with some modern aluminum material, wooden bridging material,
material for suspension bridges and foot bridges, movable cranes, rubber boats,
assault boats with both built in and outboard motors, compressors, pile-drivers,
drills, rollers, steam shovels, and generators.
8. Engineer Barracks No. II is on BaJcst-Zeilins7ky Gasse, near the AAA Barracks. It
is occupied by a motorized engineer battalion belonging to a division. located in
the southern part of the great Hungarian plain. The battalion hae' 650 to 670 men,
with dark green shoulder boards and insignia.
9. There is no engineer materiel at the barracks, the battalions equipment being
stored near the bridge and the exercise area along the Danube. The auto park Is
at the barracks and consists of twelve tractors, six half-tracks, twenty-five 3-ton
trucks, two passenger cars, three jeeps, four shop cars.
10. The engineer camp and exercise area is near the railroad bridge over the Danube,
north of Baja. There are numerous x{~on?ga*;,rgaaghed at the place are
two workshops, with 85 to 90 mechanics and other workers and a guard company of
80 to 90 men. The camp contains a large number of tools, boats and engineer equip-
ment of all aorta. Attached to the camp are four passenger ears, two traveling
cranes and a jeep.
