There were two guard posts before the garages on 14 Isar 54, Guards wore black facings with red borders and armored force insignia. Guards at western entrance wore similar facings, without insignia. At the southwest corner were -two patrols without insignia, armed with machine pistols. The garrison is between 1,000 and 1,200 men. Back of the barracks practice driving was being done 25X1 with two T 34-85 tanks;. four T 34s were standing while men practiced getting in and out q-d.akly. Firing practice was also taking place. There is a reconnaissanc.^. 25X1 car driver's school. Vehicles war 'on 14 Mar 54: 25X1 25X1 ?, Sehonau Barracks. Guards at east entrance wore black facings with red borders %nd 25X1 artillery insignia. Qarvison numbers about 1,500. Training in three squads Mx`.:7 mortars of 80 to 90 mm caliber was observed on 16 Mar 54. F_ I No training activities were observed on Id Her 514. 8. Cottbus. A Soviet troop train passed through Cottbus towards Berlin on 29--50 gar Twelve cars were filled with soldiers, and about 30 cars were loaded with vehicles. :'here were three trucks, each carrying a "Stalin organ." Six of the cars were covered-; apparently. they carried guns- and mortars. There were no insignia or. tee trucks. The soldiers wore red facings with black borders. 9. Pirna. A large party of high-ranking Red Arny officers was present at an inspection on 2 Apr 54 at Schloss Sonnenstein.
