Nine men or women, all employed in leading positions in the kolkhoz (as fore- men, section managers, mill managers, etc) formed the nine- member Partorg (political committee). 4. The Directorate and the Partorg are elected by the employees of the kol;thoz. Actually the Ukrainian Central Committee of the Party is given a list of reliable political workers by the Oblast Party Commictee, which it in turn has received from the Raion Party Committee. The chairman (directorate chief) of a 1t.olkhoz earns about 480 rubles per month, and about 1000 work days pryo (86 work days per month). Partorg members received 45 work days per month above their regular earnings as foremen, managers, etc. The 500 employees were given 1-2 work days per day, according to their efforts and accomplishments. 7. The kolkhoz had 1100 hectares of grain land; 30 heetarres of orchards (apples, pears, plums); two fish ponds .o g 40 hectares in size (the fish was canned and sold by the ,:..lkhoz); a ve etable Barden (cabbage, potatoes, cucumbers) 50 hectares in size; about 5000 fowl (geese, turkeys, chickens, ducks); 800 swine; 60 cows; 5OR o25 xen ki1rwfiefield dower work; 80 horses; 110 beehives; a dairy; plant; and a steam powered mill. 8.
