1.. The TuS national corporation (Tovarny Obrabecich Strodu - factories
for making machine tools), is located in Celakovice Z5010N..140j1J
about 20 miles east of Prague. This national corporation is the
former Vollman .+orks, well known for its production of high
quality machine tools? Before the war their products were exported
to many countries, During the war, the Celakovice plant was
greatly expanded? This corporation still specializes in the manu.
facture of machine tools and E_ I it is the main
producer in Czechoslovakia at a present time. he main plant
in Celakovice is located in the east part of town, north of the
Prague ??? 11radec Kralove railroad? Most of the buildings are built
of red brick; many have glass roofs. The TOS national corporation
is regarded by the CP as well organized and it is often cited as
an example to other national corporations?
20 The 11 Mar 52 issue of Rude Pravo carried an article on "socialist
competition" which mentioned the TOS plant located in Hostivar, a
Prague suburb. This plant is no doubt a branch of the T06 national
corporation The ,:article in :iui:le Pravo also mentioned that the
plant; in lrostivar had begun :corking a night ::h.ift, making a total
of three shifts. I believe that this is an indication that the
entire national corporation is working three shifts.
3? Another TOS plant 1n located in KlIrim ~48i8N 1b.32_E~? near Brno.
Minister of Planning Pucik mentioned this plant in recent
parliamentary debates on the ri:.,t;ional bullet.
L There are also Zbrojovka Brno plants in Kurim and I bel.ieve that
it is .4uite po;-sible that the former Machine Tool Department of
Zhrojovka here has been put under TOS as a result of a reorgan-
ization.
