The Rakosi Matyas Hospital ; as set up in Korea as Hungary's contribution to the war effort; all equipment for the hosaital was furnished by Hungary. I do not know the size of the hospital, nor where Lt was located. 3. Another method of aiding Korea was tie collection of money for the ;.urchase of medicines, medical supplies, clothing, and toys, I never heard of blood being shipped to Korea from Hungary but the Red Cross campaign to collect blood was intensified beginning in June 1951. 4. In line with the anti-.+estern in1 anti-US propaganda, a great deal of emphasis was out, on the fact that the US started the war in Korea. Up to February 1952 there had been US ing bacteriological war- fare in Korea. I have heard over Radio Budapest that there h.'re been mass meetings protesting the use of Bid in Korea. 5. Shortly after the beginning of the war in Korea, a ca pain was started in Hungary to enlist volunteers in a medical corps to be sent to Korea. Those who volunteered to go to Korea as surgeons, nurses, or medical as istants received 70 thousand forints for six .r.onths service. At the end of six moiths, the group of L10 persons :aa:; replaced by another group. In April 1951, one of the groups returned and a great deal was written about it in the papers.
