Governmental Decree of 21 December 1948
Establishing the Opw'a`ional Plan for
Food Consumption in 1949.
The Government of Czechoslovakia, according to Paragraph 34 of
the Lav Concerning the Five-Year Plan, decrees the following:
1. On the basis of proposals worked out by the Central. Planning
Commission, the operational plan for food 1s established. The walne,
total quantity, and relative consumption of the principal foods, in
accordance with Table 1 - 5 below, are thereby determined for 1949.

3. Foods valued, at 71,087,700,E 4rown8 and obtained from both domestic
production and imports have been allotted for distribution to the popula-
tion by publid means. Among these, the principal foods are:

k. The Emister of Rued is directed to a ataister- ratioaimg' ina 1949 with-
in the limits of the total allotment specified in Paragraph 2 so 'that the
average food consumption value of individual consumer groups should equal
the average values specified in Tables 1 - 5 of tkis decree.
5. The Minister of..Food is d1rectad-to ensure, in agreement.vtth the Mini-
ster of Agriculture, sufficient purchase of agricultural products to fulfill
the tasks, in accordance with Paragraphs 3 and 4.
b. The Minister of Foreign Trade is directed to va;mduet;' within Us.; limits
of the import plan for 1949, such imports of food and raw resterialc for proc.
ceasing as are necessary, to fulfill the tasks in accordance with Paragraphs,
3 and 4 and in accordance with the time schedule agreed to by the Minister
of Food.
7. This decree shall be tarried. out by the Ministers of Food,' Agriculture,
and Fo*eign Trade in agreement with the interested members of the government.
